Voids (2015) offer further explorations of “Ma” 間. While the Interiors series explore the substantive presence of light, Voids emphasize the weight of emptiness. Vistas carved into dark stones host an austere pause, a moment in time from which something will emerge. The emphasis in this form is not subtraction, but the creation of the perceived negative space. At once beginning and ending, but in all cases- static, Voids provide a balanced reflection of what remains.
